TEXAS LONE STAR CUT

In 1977 the Texas Legislature passed a resolution designating a special gemstone cut, designed by two Midland facetors, as the official Texas – Lone Star Cut. This was appropriate since the Blue Topaz is the official State Gemstone. When viewed from above, the cut reveals a five-pointed star. Since the cut produces a stone deeper in depth than a normal cut, custom designs are necessary for the gemstone.
